1.       How do I get a library card?

To be eligible to get a Crawford County Library card, you must live, own a business, attend school, or be a property owner in Crawford County. Applications are available at the Circulation Desk.

2.       How old must I be to get a library card?

You may get a library card at any age. Kids 17 and under must have a parent or legal guardian fill out the application form for them.

3.       What does my library card cost?

Your first library card is free. Should you lose your library card you can replace it for $2.00.

4.       What items are available for check out with my library card?

We have a wide selection of items you can check out with your library card. We have magazines, DVD’s, audio books, hardcovers, paperbacks, and downloadable audio books and ebooks.

5.       Are there fees?

You can borrow the items from the library for free, however if you go past your due date there will be a ten cent late fee per item each day the item is overdue.

6.       How many items can I check out?

With a valid library card that is in good standing you may enjoy checking out many items. Although we limit the checkouts of new books to two at a time and DVDs to 5 at a time, you may check out up to 25 items total.

7.       How can I find an item?

To find an item, try our online catalog either at home or on our catalog computers located in the library. You may also ask circulation staff to assist you either in person or over the phone.

8.       What if the item I would like is checked out?

If the item that you would like is checked out you can place a hold on that item through our card catalogue, online card catalogue, or by asking circulation staff. Crawford County Library System belongs to the Superior Land Co-op. When your book is placed on hold the first available copy will be sent to your home library for you free of charge.

9.       What are your hours?

Our main branch is open
Monday – Thursday 9:00 – 7:00, Friday 9:00 – 6:00, and Saturday 9:00 – 2:00.

Our Frederic branch is open
Monday 9:00 – 6:00, Tuesday 9:00 – 3:00, Wednesday 1:00 – 6:00,
Thursday 9:00 – 3:00, Friday 1:00 – 6:00, and Saturday 9:00 – 2:00.

11.       Can I send or receive a fax at the library?

Yes. The charge is $1.00 per page and we will give you a cover sheet for free. The fax number for Devereaux Memorial Library is 1-989-348-9294 and Frederic Community Library is 1-989-344-0224.

12.       Can I print or copy something at the library?

Yes. At both branches you can print and make copes for twenty-five cents per black & white page and $1.25 per colored page. We also offer wireless printing at our Devereaux branch for the same prices.

13.       Can I use my own mobile device to get on the internet?

Yes you can! We offer wifi at both our branches. Due to Federal mandates and laws Internet Accessibility is subject to filtering software.
