What's Happening at the Crawford County Library...
There's always something happening at the Crawford County Library. We offer many fun, educational, and enriching programs for patrons of all ages. Various off-site programs reach those unable to travel and bring the library to you! All programs listed are at Devereaux Memorial Library unless otherwise noted. Monthly calendars of events are available at the circulation desk of your local branch, or print the list below using our printable link.

August Library Events

New this month…

Friends of Crawford County Library Book Sale!    Monday, August 7th through Saturday, August 12th
Stock up on some summer reading while helping the library! The sale will be held during normal business hours with hardcovers $1.00 each and paperbacks 25¢. All proceeds benefit Crawford County Library.

Paint a Pot (Summer Art Class)  NEW TIME!   Tuesday, August 15th at 3:30 pm
Come join us for an hour of creative fun! Paint a ceramic pot, then plant in it whatever you would like at home. For kids 9 and up, but anyone with an adult is welcome.

3-D Weaving for Adults     Thursday, August 17th at 5:00 pm
This program is designed to introduce 3-D weaving to someone who has never thought it possible. Take basic weaving materials and really make them pop! For teens and adults 16 and up.

Finger Knitting (Summer Art Class)  NEW TIME!   Tuesday, August 22nd at 3:30 pm
With just a bit of yarn and your own fingers, you can create a one of a kind item! For kids 9 and up, or if you bring an adult, any age is welcome.

 

Regular Programs

Genealogy Group     Every Monday from 9:00 am-12:00 pm
Bring your ancestry research and collaborate with others sharing similar goals at Genealogy Group.

Let’s Get Fit!     Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1:00 pm
Join our adult exercise program designed with beginners and seniors in mind! Try easy chair exercises, stretching, and simple yoga moves to improve mind and body. Wear comfortable clothing.

Story Hour     Every Wednesday at 11:15 am
Birth to preschool children can come to enjoy stories, songs, crafts, snacks and activities. No sign up required.

Sit and Knit     First Thursday and Second Tuesday of the Month
Join area fiber fanatics to share ideas in the techniques of knitting, crochet, felting, embroidery, etc. Bring your projects. August dates: Thursday the 3rd @ 10:00am and Tuesday the 8th @ 5:00pm.

Tea and Tech Time     Every Tuesday through Friday
Need basic computer, ereader, or tablet help? Call 989-348-9214 to make an appointment for some one-on-one help and a hot beverage to calm your computer frazzles every Tuesday through Friday at Devereaux Memorial Library.

CCLS Book Club     Tuesday, August 29th at 5:00 pm
Join adults in the community for a friendly discussion of the book of the month. August’s selection: Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult. Call 989-348-9214 or stop in any library branch to reserve a copy. This title is also available for checkout on the library’s Nook ereaders.
